Here are the thoughts of a 10-year-old yogi who had to write a persuasive argument for her 4th grade class. She chose to persuade others that “people should do more yoga”. I was touched and want to share a 10-year-old’s perspective on why we should do yoga. I have rewritten her text here but you can see a snapshot of her first page in the picture.
People Should Do More Yoga by Allison
My strong opinion is that every body should do yoga. Have you ever been very stiff-legged? I have. Yoga helps you get a bit more ease. Yoga helps you concentrate. Yoga makes you work. Finally, yoga is for all ages. I hope these reasons can make you like yoga.
First, Yoga is very quiet so you can concentrate on not falling down and you can focus on your breathing. Another reason yoga helps you concentrate is because you have to concentrate on your positions. Last reason yoga helps you concentrate is because you have to concentrate on your position and not anyone else’s.
Second, yoga makes you work. There are things you might not expect about working in yoga. One reason yoga makes you work is that you have to remember your position. Another reason yoga makes you work is because you have to work on not choosing the position that is too hard for you to do. The final reason yoga makes you work is sometimes you have to do hard positions.
Third, yoga is for all ages. My eighty-three year old grandma can do yoga. Five year olds, yoga in school helps focus their work. Eighty-three year olds can do yoga, yoga for older people helps them be more flexible and healthy. Forty-eight year olds can do yoga. In my opinion, around ten is the best age for yoga.
Yoga helps you concentrate. Yoga makes you work. Finally, yoga is for all ages. Those are the reasons I think you should do yoga.
