August 3 - August 5$375
Please join Emily Gretz and Laura Liberatore for this interactive learning experience!
Musculoskeletal Assessment for Yoga Teachers (20hours) Register Here
This course builds upon the material learned in Anatomy for Yoga Practitioners and Teachers with the intention of further developing a teacher’s observational and assessment skills to enhance their practice and work with students. While the skills are best used in a one-on-one environment, the practitioner or teacher can benefit from a greater understanding of assessment techniques for use in a group setting. Students will learn musculoskeletal assessment techniques by developing their knowledge of the concepts of: mobility & flexibility, facilitated vs. inhibited, symmetry, range of motion, tone vs.. atrophy, balance and perceived sources of pain. Learning will take place through group observation and one-on-one assessments. Basic yoga postures will set the observation platform.
Taught by Emily Gretz, MEd, ERYT-500 and Laura Libertore Grayson, DPT, PT
(Anatomy for Yoga Practitioners and Teachers is recommended prior to attending MA. Please contact email@example.com with questions)
Here’s what students have said:
Thank you so much for an informative and productive training. I enjoyed every moment of it. We are so fortunate to have both of you teaching us from the perspective of yoga and the perspective of anatomy, and to experience hands-on their interconnection. This workshop deepened my self-awareness and my knowledge of anatomy. Thank you again.
Thanks for a great training! I feel like I learned so much and got lots of burning questions answered. 🙂
This class definitely increased my depth of knowledge in areas such as understanding and coordinating targeted muscle groups with select yoga postures. Emily Gretz and Laura Liberatore strengths complement each other. They are a great team!
This course was wonderful. Although, it’s main purpose was to develop skills to assess students and plan a program to meet their needs, I am finding that it is also helping me to assess my students in group classes and plan classes to meet their needs. The instructors were very knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely recommend this course to others.
