Monica Keady, RYT 500

Introduced to yoga by a dance instructor in high school, Monica Keady, RYT-500 had no idea of the gift she had received.  Monica returned to yoga throughout her twenties and thirties, relying on videos such as Ali MacGraw’s Yoga, Mind & Body and many of Rodney Yee’s productions.  As studio classes became more available, her practice deepened and she was exposed to a variety of traditions.  Monica is grateful for the teachers that have come into her life, each providing a fresh perspective.

In 2014, Monica completed a 200-hour teacher training taught in the tradition of Swami Kripalu.  Continuing in that lineage, 2018 Monica completed the Pranakriya 300-hour teacher training in 2018.  Monica is passionate about learning and recognizes that the study of yoga is a lifelong process.

Monica is a strong advocate of listening to the body’s wisdom.  Her classes encourage students to practice with an awareness of safety, comfort, right effort and challenge.  Finding ease in the body, allows ease in the mind. Monica infuses her classes with a touch of Yin, Gentle and Restorative Yoga all the while encouraging a meditative state with awareness on the breath.
