Betsy Marzahn-Ramos

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, MARKETING | M.A., RYT 200

Betsy combines a career in education, training, and nonprofit management with an entrepreneurial orientation to lead the Pranakriya School of Yoga Healing Arts as its Executive Director (since 2020). Trained as a 200-hour yoga teacher and prenatal yoga teacher through Pranakriya, Betsy is dedicated to using her extensive experience in fundraising and program development, as well as compassion and flexibility to help our organization meet its potential so we may continue to train excellent teachers who bring yoga to diverse audiences.

Having been on her own journey through health challenges, Betsy is passionate about the healing benefits of yoga and being true to oneself. She believes yoga should be available, and accessible, to all as a productive way of relieving stress and learning to live safely in our bodies. As a certified kids’ yoga teacher, and mother of two, Betsy enjoys both leading and practicing kids yoga at home with Sebastian and Paloma. She is a strong proponent of bringing prenatal yoga into mainstream yoga learning and teaching, making it more accessible to all moms-to-be.

Betsy and her family live in Connecticut, where she enjoys teaching beach yoga and Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) yoga, in addition to beginner, prenatal, and kids yoga. All of her classes focus on pranayama first and foremost, and often on doing less, and being more. She brings her passion for environmental protection and conservation into her classes through themes, readings, and a general orientation toward using yoga to experience oneness with the world around us in order to be more fully alive in our experiences. Betsy holds a Bachelor’s degree from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY, and Master’s degrees from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) and Brandeis University. She is currently working to earn her 300-hour advanced certification through Pranakriya.
