Pranakriya Kids Yoga School, PK Kids, seeks to plant the seeds of yoga with educators through faculty in-service with the intention of facilitating classroom learning for teachers and students.

Recently, I was teaching a private lesson to a seven-year-old girl and we were talking about energy and how our energy affects others.  Her response to the conversation was, “sometimes my energy is so big I can’t hold it.”  WOW!  What awareness and insight at such a young age.  I knew right then what my role was in working with this child.  How do I teach her to strengthen her container to hold this energy when it’s needed and how do I teach her to let it go (as needed) without feeling a loss? How does SEEDS work?

We offer a range of opportunities for your school to work with us, and work with administrators to customize your experience based on your audience, number of participants, goals, and budget. Below you’ll find a general framework, but please contact us for more information so that together we can build a plan specifically for your school! Regardless of which level is right for your school right now, we base everything on giving your educators access to the following learning outcomes which are fundamental to the SEEDS program:

  • Provide yoga tools for your everyday lives

  • Provide yoga tools for your students

  • Provide on-line materials for continued learning and reference

  • Plant the SEEDS of Pranakriya Kids Yoga in order to:

    • further SUPPORT social and emotional learning through mindfulness

    • ENCOURAGE a sense of community through yoga

    • cultivate EFFECTIVE breathing techniques for relaxation

    • DEVELOP more focused behavior

    • STRENGTHEN body and mind

REDWOOD:

  • 3x 3-hour in-service sessions for educators

  • 10 yoga classes for educators (in-person, where available, or online)

  • Access to our members’ only site with additional classes, breath work techniques, tools, and resources

PALM:

  • 2x 3-hour in-service sessions for educators

  • 6 yoga classes for educators (in-person, where available, or online)

  • Access to our members’ only site with additional classes, breath work techniques, tools, and resources

SUNFLOWER:

  • 1x 3-hour in-service sessions for educators

  • 2 yoga classes for educators (in-person, where available, or online)

SPROUT

  • 1x 60-90 minute in-service sessions for educators

Meet the Team

Emily Gretz, MEd, E-RYT 500, RCYT, YACEP

Emily has worked as a contractor in the K-12 school system for over 15 years. She is the Director of Pranakriya’s Kids’ Yoga School, and PK Kids programs: Teaching Yoga to Little Kids; Teaching Yoga to Tweens through Teens; Growing a Body: Anatomy and Development from Two through Teens. She is also co-Director of Pranakriya’s advanced yoga teacher training programs: Musculoskeletal Assessment for Yoga Teachers, and The Science and Art of Assisting Skillfully.

Amy Necci, MEd, E-RYT 200, RYT 500, YACEP

Amy has been a public school teacher in Pennsylvania since 2001 and the founder of Balance for Educators. She is the Director of Pranakriya’s advanced yoga teacher training programs, Ethics & Creating Inclusive Spaces, and Deepening the Asana Experience: Gentle Yoga. She is co-Director of the PK Kids’ program Making Yoga Philosophy Accessible to Kids.
