Thread of Awareness

“There is nothing whatsoever higher than Me, O Arjuna! All this is strung on Me as clusters of gems on a string. “ (7.)
COMMENTARY: There is no other cause of the universe but Me. I alone am the cause of the universe.
Translation from The Bhagavad Gita by Swami Sivananda
As the Gita beautifully demonstrates in the above verse, all the moments which make up my past, present and future hang on an invisible thread of awareness (or aliveness) just like the pearls strung together on an invisible thread. Without the thread, the pearls will disperse! Without awareness, without aliveness, there is no past, no future, not even the present! Where is THIS universe without ME? There is NO world without this Existence that I call ME! But who am I? Being the observer- I cannot be the body, nor can I be the mind- both of which are the observed. The observer is always separate from the observed. Without this thread of awareness flowing through me, then who am I? The question begs to be answered. Any answer we arrive at, cannot be the observer, it automatically becomes the observed. So the ancients called me THAT . I am THAT observer, THAT witness, THAT underlying thread of awareness or aliveness that holds my past, present and future together. I am THAT awareness or aliveness which binds the body and mind together. I am THAT or THAT I am or THAT am I! Tat Tvam Asi, yes, You are THAT
When this knowledge becomes experiential, there is infinite peace and freedom. This is my wish for each one of us.
May we experience the infinite peace and freedom that arises from the experiential knowledge of who we are!
May we learn to let go of differences that arises between us due to the ignorance of who we are and learn to see the commonality, the thread of love, kindness and compassion that binds us together.
May we seek the light of knowledge and experience everlasting peace and freedom!
Om Om to you all.
